Paul Kantner Of Jefferson Airplane Dies At Age 74
Former Jefferson Airplane singer/songwriter/guitarist Paul Kantner has died at age 74. Kantner was probably the most underrated member of the Airplane and was really the group's most prolific songwriter and driving force from 1967's After Bathing At Baxter's album through the group's 1972 swan song Long John Silver. RIP Paul Kantner (1941-2016)
Let Me In (1966)
DCBA 25 (1967)
Won't You Try/Saturday Afternoon (1967)
Crown Of Creation (1968)
We Can Be Together (1969)
Have You Seen The Saucers? (1970)
Alexander The Medium (1972)
Martha (1967)
In Time (1968)
These are some of my favorite Paul Kantner songs and proved what a truly great songwriter he was.

The Craig-I Must Be Mad (Fontana 45 1966)
The Craig-I Must Be Mad 1966 (drummer Carl Palmer-far left)
It sounds to me like Pete Townshend of The Who borrowed the basic backing track of I Must Be Mad for The Who's 1967 epic I Can See For Miles.
Dancing In New Orleans was the B-side only on the German issue of I Must Be Mad. The UK edition carried the rather routine Suspense.
UK issue of I Must Be Mad (cost me $40 back in 1984)
